Why do I need an LMIA-approved employer?

There are a few exceptions where an LMIA isn’t required, but these roles are rare. If you qualify for one of those exceptions, we’ll still help with your application and guide you through the process so you don’t miss your chance.

How long does the process take?

Timelines can vary — they depend on your sector, the speed of employer responses, how quickly you provide us with the required documents, and ultimately the processing times of Immigration Canada.
